Markets Media joins NEXTPredict NYC as official media partner

Trader TV will broadcast live from the October prediction-markets summit at Hudson Yards, alongside panels and speaker recruitment.

NEXTPredict NYC has named Markets Media as an official media partner for The World’s Prediction Markets Summit, which is due to be held Oct. 22-23 at Convene Hudson Yards in New York City.

The partnership brings a full day of live broadcasting from Markets Media’s Trader TV video platform, as well as panel programming and help recruiting senior speakers through the publisher’s financial-markets network. Markets Media will also promote the conference through its editorial, website, email and social channels, including the From the Markets newsletter and Traders Magazine.

NEXTPredict.io announced the arrangement Oct. 1. Its coverage spans equities, fixed income and foreign exchange, with an emphasis on technology, regulation and market structure in institutional trading. The partnership is intended to connect NEXTPredict with institutional investors, traders, market makers, exchanges, financial-technology providers and other capital-markets professionals.

Trader TV’s onsite programming is designed to give executives, investors, traders and other attendees a forum to discuss prediction-market developments while reaching Markets Media’s broader audience. David Griffiths, president of Markets Media Group, said the sector was raising questions about liquidity, market structure, technology and institutional participation.

NEXTPredict expects about 2,500 attendees over the two-day event, including operators, investors, regulators, market makers, founders, suppliers and media. The summit website lists 200 speakers and five stages.

The programme covers regulation, liquidity, market infrastructure, institutional capital, forecasting applications, product development and media’s role in distributing market signals. NEXTPredict, a media and events platform launched by the team behind NEXT.io, describes the summit as its flagship B2B conference for the global prediction-markets industry.

The Markets Media agreement follows Morgan Stanley’s Sept. 15 appointment as a strategic partner. Morgan Stanley is scheduled to assemble and lead an Institutional and Capital panel on the summit’s second day, examining institutional opportunities, barriers to participation, capital, market structure and risk as prediction markets mature.

Pierre Lindh, NEXTPredict’s co-founder and managing director, said participation by people who understand established markets was becoming essential as prediction markets entered a broader financial conversation. The summit is positioned two weeks before the U.S. midterm elections.
