Axcera adds Plaee’s simulated prediction markets for prop firms

The integration lets firms run YES/NO event-contract trading with virtual capital while retaining Axcera’s existing challenge, risk and payout systems.

Axcera has integrated Plaee’s SimTrader platform, giving proprietary trading firms and brokers that use Axcera a way to offer simulated prediction-market trading without building a separate exchange or operating a real-money venue.

The service lets traders use simulated capital to take YES/NO positions across thousands of event markets. Contracts cover short-dated questions involving equities, crypto, foreign exchange, rates and commodities, with real-time pricing designed to mirror live markets.

In its announcement, Axcera said the structure fits the challenge and evaluation model used by proprietary trading firms. Axcera continues to handle trader and account management, risk monitoring, workflows and payouts, while Plaee supplies the prediction-market product.

Operators can use Plaee’s white-label web and mobile interfaces, or connect through APIs and iFrames. The companies said Axcera-platform firms can introduce a branded product in weeks, with tools for promotions, rewards, tournaments and personalisation available through SimTrader.

For Axcera, the offering adds a potential revenue line and a further asset class to its platform. The company said its clients had onboarded more than 2 million traders and were processing more than 250,000 new accounts a month as of August; it also said those firms had generated more than $750 million in cumulative revenue. Axcera supports more than 100 integrations, and says about 95% of its operational workflows can run without manual intervention.

Plaee has already used SimTrader in proprietary trading. Tradeify’s simulated prediction-market tournament, which ran from June 28 to July 19, drew more than 30,000 participants using virtual capital rather than real-money contracts.

The arrangement is separate from Plaee’s beta integration with ProphetX’s regulated U.S. sports prediction market, which we reported on Sept. 30. That partnership is intended to help distribution operators connect to a regulated exchange, whereas the Axcera product is designed around simulated trading for prop-firm evaluations and challenges.

The launch comes as prediction-market activity has expanded. Combined trading volume on Kalshi and Polymarket rose from roughly $9 billion in 2024 to more than $40 billion in 2025, according to KPMG. Acuiti’s second-quarter survey found 13% of proprietary trading firms were already active in prediction markets and a further 31% were considering participation.

Among institutional derivatives participants more broadly, 9% were active and 35% were considering entry, although 57% identified regulatory uncertainty as the principal obstacle to wider adoption. Axcera and Plaee said they will also work on industry education, events, research and content focused on prediction-market adoption by prop firms and brokers.
