Kalshi brings Oddpool in-house
The prediction-market data startup was co-founded by Avi Arora and Ritesh Malpani, and its founders said talks with chief executive Tarek Mansour convinced them they could move faster inside Kalshi.
Kalshi is bringing Oddpool, a prediction-market data startup co-founded by Avi Arora and Ritesh Malpani, into the company. The move folds a team built around the data layer of prediction markets into the exchange.
According to Betting Startups, Arora said every trade carries a signal and that the signal comes from millions of participants rather than a committee. The founders decided to join Kalshi after conversations with chief executive Tarek Mansour persuaded them they could build faster from inside the ecosystem than as an outside partner.
Oddpool came out of Y Combinator this past spring. It used its seed financing to build data infrastructure intended to help institutions, economists and policymakers treat prediction markets as a real asset class.
The acquisition signals Kalshi's push to build institutional-grade tooling in house rather than rely on third parties. It also reflects the wider maturation of prediction markets as they move from a retail curiosity toward something institutions, economists and policymakers want to price off of.
