Polymarket adds Squads to bring trading into group chats

Polymarket has launched Squads, a new social experience inside its US app that lets friends talk markets, share picks and trade together on the platform. The feature is designed to bring conversations that already happen in group chats into Polymarket itself.

According to a PR Newswire announcement, each Squad is a private space inside the app. Members can invite friends, exchange messages, share positions and combos, and follow activity across the group, while each person still trades through their own Polymarket account.

Travis VanderZanden, Polymarket’s chief growth officer, said people are already debating what will happen next with friends and sharing predictions in group chats. He said Squads brings conversation and trading together so users can follow the events they care about and make predictions in one place, adding that there was “no better time to start than right before football season kicks off.”

The launch also follows Polymarket Perps, which the company recently introduced as a way to trade price movements across crypto, stocks, commodities and indices. Alongside Squads, Polymarket said it will debut Polymarket HQ, its first football-season campaign, directed by Peter Berg and featuring LeBron James, Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, Spike Lee, Sue Bird, Richard Sherman, Rajon Rondo and others.

The campaign is set in a fictional Polymarket headquarters where each floor represents a different market, and the spots will showcase Squads, live trading, Combos and other product features.
