Outpoll adds 100x perpetual futures to prediction-market app

The new Trading section combines event contracts and positions in crypto, stocks, indices and commodities under one shared balance.

Outpoll launched Trading, a perpetual-futures service embedded in its prediction-market platform, allowing customers to manage event positions and futures trades through one account balance. The service went live Oct. 15 on outpoll.com and in the Outpoll app.

The company is pitching the product as a way to place a forecast on an event and take a market position tied to its anticipated effects in the same interface. Its examples include pairing a position on a Federal Reserve rate decision with a short position on the SPX500, or an oil-supply forecast with a long position on oil.

Outpoll said its users can trade event outcomes across politics, economics, crypto, sports and culture, while also accessing perpetual futures on crypto, stocks, indices and commodities. Contracts are quoted against USDT and USDC, permit long and short positions, and offer leverage of up to 100 times.

The company said prediction markets generally do not offer leveraged instruments, while derivatives venues generally do not offer event markets. Its stated proposition is to combine both: “Forecast an event, trade the asset it moves, and manage both from one app.” Existing customers can open the Trading section using their current balance, while new sign-ups were offered a NEW100 promotion code for either a trading-fee discount or a larger position size.

Every Trading contract is perpetual, meaning it has no expiry date requiring a trader to roll into a replacement contract. Perpetual futures are designed to track an underlying spot market through periodic funding payments between traders, Cornell University researchers have explained. Cornell said such contracts accounted for 93% of cryptocurrency derivatives trading.

The launch also brings substantial risk into a platform previously centred on event outcomes. Outpoll’s own disclaimer said leveraged perpetual-futures trading carries a high level of risk, a caution especially relevant to contracts offering up to 100x leverage.
